A stablecoin Iām reading about
Frax Finance: Building a decentralised central bank, starting with a stablecoin by Eugene Ang. This is a long but comprehensive deep-dive into $FRAX, a stablecoin which is partially backed by collateral, and partially stabilised algorithmically. One of the interesting things about Frax is that the collateral ratio - the proportion of assets which are backing the stablecoin - is dynamic. It moves up and down, reflecting the marketās confidence in the stablecoin.
What Iām reading to help me make sense of virtual land
Metaverse Land: What Makes Digital Real Estate Valuable by Scott Kominers (a16z). A good read exploring the differences between physical & digital real estate, and what makes virtual land valuable when it can theoretically expand infinitely, and when proximity matters less because people can teleport anywhere.
A thought-provoking read on the value of gamifying education
Level Up: Presenting the Future of Education as a Game, and How It May Take the Form of a Web3-powered Metaverse by Bianca Mikaila. An interesting perspective on what education would be like if it were more like a game, and how web3 will let individuals take control of their own learning experiences.
